Where they are found/located: They are found in all the Great Lakes, but there are some species of lamprey that thrive in oceans. They are known as invasive species in the Great Lakes so efforts are made to stop the explosion of their population to other areas. The earliest recorded sighting in the Great Lakes was 1835.
